The demographic situation and changes occurring within it are challenge for both Warmińsko‑Mazurskie Voivodship and the whole country. Population ageing, low fertility rates and migration trends require analyses essential for creating demographic forecasts and strategies. This publication is the latest edition of a study issued on an annual basis that is an analysis of the current situation as well as demographic processes that have taken place in the Voivodship during over twenty years.

The publication contains an extensive set of statistical data, as well as an analytical commentary on the population size and its distribution in the Voivodship, births and deaths, the age structure of society, marriages contracted, separations and divorces, as well as migration. It covers depopulation processes resulting from changes in the natural increase rate and directions of population migration.

The analytical commentary is suplemented by tables, charts and cartograms that illustrate selected features and trends, as well as their intensity. The basic scope of information concerns 2025. Selected issues are presented in a multi‑year retrospection since 2000, enabling the presentation of demographic changes occuring over time. Changes in the Voivodship are presented in relation to processes taking place in Poland and also against the background of other voivodships. The study also contains definitions of basic concepts and indicators.
