The publication contains the research results and the analytical commentary on the number of population and its distribution on the territory of the Voivodship, births and deaths, natural increase, population ageing, contracted marriages, divorces and separation as well as migration of population. Changes in the Voivodship are presented in relation to demographic processess taking place in Poland and also against the background of other voivodships. The study contains definitions of basic concepts and indicators, and the analytical commentary is suplemented by tables, charts and maps that illustrate selected features and trends, as well as their intensity. Part of data is presented in the retrospection since 2000, enabling the presentation of demographic changes taking place over time.
