The thematic scope of the study includes issues concerning number and structure of the voivodship population as well as vital statistics and migrations.

The publication contains the research results and the analytical commentary on the size of the population and its spatial distribution on the territory of the voivodship, births and deaths, natural increase, population ageing, marriages, divorces and separations as well as migration of the population. The analysis is supplemented by tables presenting the demographic situation of the voivodship against the background of the country and other voivodships, as well as charts and maps illustrating selected features and their intensity. Some of the phenomena were presented in the retrospection since 2000, enabling the presentation of demographic changes taking place over time.
